Job description
Join us as an Account Manager and help shape the future of open-source project management.
At OpenProject, we believe that great project management software should be open, transparent, and accessible to everyone. As the leading open source project management platform, we empower teams worldwide — from NGOs and public institutions to innovative tech companies — to collaborate more efficiently and manage projects with full control and data sovereignty.
To support our growing Community, we’re looking for a passionate Account Manager who loves working with people, building strong customer relationships, and helping organizations succeed with OpenProject while being tech-savvy.
Your mission
As an Account Manager at OpenProject, you'll play a key role in helping our customers get the most out of our software. You’ll conduct demo appointments, guide them through onboarding and training, identify their needs, and make sure they feel supported every step of the way.
Be the trusted advisor: Build strong, long-term relationships with our clients and help them implement best practices with OpenProject.
Showcase the value: Conduct product demos and tailor solutions to customer needs.
Enable our customers' success: Support users during onboarding and training, and offer proactive advice on how to get the most out of OpenProject.
Identify opportunities: Track key account metrics and identify potential upsell opportunities in a helpful and consultative way.
Be the voice of our users: Gather customer feedback and share insights with our product, marketing, and sales teams to continuously improve the user experience.
Help us grow the open-source Community: Identify common use cases and document them to support other users in adopting OpenProject.
Lead engaging training sessions (online and on-site) in German and English together with our training team.
You’re a great fit for this role if...
You are fluent in German (native level) and English (professional level) – additional languages like French or Spanish are a plus.
You have at least 2 years of experience in account management, customer success, or sales in a SaaS or tech environment.
You’re passionate about open-source software and want to be part of a mission-driven company that promotes transparency and collaboration.
You love working with people, are a great communicator, and know how to build strong relationships with customers.
You’re tech-savvy and excited to dive into the world of project management software.
You have experience working with CRM systems and data sheets (bonus points if you’ve worked with OpenProject before).
You enjoy working in a remote-first team with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility.
What’s in it for you?
A purpose-driven role in an open-source company that truly values transparency and collaboration.
The chance to work with exciting clients from around the world – from public institutions, and NGOs to innovative corporates.
A growing, experienced team that loves learning from each other and values a supportive and positive work environment.
A remote-first work setup with full flexibility and work-life balance.
The opportunity to have a real impact on the success of our customers and the future development of OpenProject.
A scaling company with the agility of a startup.
